Art of St. Als!

As i've mentioned, i'm currently doing my H.Dip placement in my old school, St. Aloysius College, Carrigtwohill. It's great being back and seeing how everything works from the other side! When I was a student I had no idea how much planning and co-ordination goes on, not to mention the close eye that was kept on all of us!

Over Christmas I set up a blog for the art department, artofstalscarrig.blogspot.com. You can check it out here. It showcases work from across the six years in the various disciplines. There's been some really incredible work produced, this just gives you a taster.

Not art related, but I also set up a TY blog with the pupils have been keeping really active, it gives a great insight into the school, you can check it out here.

Chloe Early / Stuff 4 Designers

More blogging! I'm doing a weekly (Thursday) post on Stuff4designers. My first one went out yesterday and focused on Chloe Early, an incredibly impressive painter. I saw her boyfriend, Conor Harrington (another amazing painter!) give a talk at Electric Picnic a few years ago, this was my first introduction to his work and what led me to Chloe's work. It's so beautiful! I would LOVE to own one!

The post is here, with more images and a slightly more articulate reflection on her work (I hope!).

Tune in to stuff4designers every Thursday for more examples of stunning work, plus any random day for some great insights into web design!

Where's Me Pencil?

New blog action at wheresmepencil.blogspot.com. Initiated by the unbelievably talented Tomás, myself and five other friends are contributing to it weekly, i'm on a Tuesday, the day after Tomás, talk about being shown up! So far i've just posted stuff from my life drawing class. I'm finding it really interesting to see what everyone else posts, there's a great mix of styles / approaches. Above is the latest, very beautiful, offering from Tomás.

It's only in it's second week, feel free to stroll over and check it out.
